Stocked with Strawberries

We have so many strawberries in our house! I bought about 2-3 times what we normally eat since we had family here this weekend, but we didn’t eat as many as I thought we would. I guess now it’s up to Nick and me to get through them.

It’s a good thing we both love strawberries.

This bowl had:

  • 1/2 cup oats, 1 cup water, pinch salt
  • 1/3 banana, sliced
  • 1/2 -1 cup strawberries, mixed in and on top
  • cinnamon!
  • 1 Tbsp pecan pieces

I love strawberries + pecans together. Adding those to oatmeal just makes it even better  🙂

Plus a small cup of chocolate milk this morning.

Sometimes, you just need something chocolatey in the morning!

I’m kind of excited to have this many strawberries – I’m working up a fun dessert to have tonight that should use some of them, too. Yay for fresh berries!

All Growed Up

Are there any foods that just make you feel like a kid again when you have them?

One of mine is chocolate milk. I love chocolate milk, and don’t have it nearly enough. Especially since it just makes me happy.

Surprisingly, oatmeal is not one of those foods. I actually did not like oatmeal when I was younger – I don’t know what it was, but I never ate it until I was in college. Can you believe that? I’m so glad I got over that.

  • cinnamon, and more cinnamon
  • 1 Tbsp cinnamon raisin pb

This peanut butter is awesome – I think I may like it a little better than the chocolate one, which is crazy! Now if I could just find the mighty maple and white chocolate….

I also had a big glass of icy cold chocolate milk this morning – I was planning on having this no matter what I actually had for breakfast. It hit the spot.

Yes, I like my chocolate milk verrrrry chocolate-y  🙂  If I’m going to have it, I want it to taste like chocolate milk!

Make Mine Upside Down

It’s humpday already! I’m still pretty confused as to what day it is after the long weekend of traveling, but I think I’m just about back on schedule. I slept pretty good last night after running, eating, and reading for a bit. I had a hard time getting out of bed, actually – I think I hit the snooze 4 times? it’s hard to want to get out of the warm bed when I’ve got a big warm cat keeping my feet warm on the bed.

I thought about having eggs this morning, but oatmeal won again. I had some pineapple in the fridge that I needed to use, so I made my pineapple upside down oats.

It’s been too long since I made this one. I need to remember to keep some kind of pineapple in the house at all times.

  • 1/2 cup oats, 1 cup water, pinch salt
  • 3/4 cup pineapple
  • 2 Tbsp walnuts
  • cinnamon!
  • 1 Tbsp unsweetened coconut
  • 1 tsp brown sugar, for melt effect

Today is our last day of BodyPump  😦  Our gym membership ends this week, and I don’t think we’re renewing it right now. Today should be a good one!

I can’t wait to get in the car and read some more on the way to work!

Just a heads up: I’m heading out after breakfast, and will be at my in-laws this weekend. I will have my computer and camera, but I don’t know how much I’ll actually blog. We have a lot of work (and shopping!) to do  🙂
